Pitch Pack (old)

Research
To gather inspiration and generate ideas I made a Pinterest board for the project, where I separated my different tasks into separate sections, to create separate moodboards. This allowed me to compare the work of different artists and helped me to develop my work further after we delivered the pitch pack.

Before gathering additional inspiration I created a hanging signboard to be used for the logo and text boxes. I felt the game’s direction change as more art was pushed out, especially in the tiles department due to the slight lean towards realism, and felt the old design was no longer the best fit. This was also as it felt random having a signboard hanging down for the different ui options and as the title. While I had initially been thinking of sweet shops it did not have a place in the world we were creating.
By looking at the references I had been collecting I was able to see how the titles by themselves did not interact with the environment or screen, whereas mine as it was, had to ‘hang’ from the top. While it would have been possible to remove the ropes, the design would have then felt even more random, so redesigning it felt like the best possibility.
After the redesign the logo was able to be used in more contexts as it did not have to be tied to the top of the screen. This also allowed me to develop a font that could be used across the game, whereas the old logo lacked consistency and was more random.
